Sometimes and Always...

While browsing blogs this morning, I came across Megan's link up which I hadn't seen before but love so here we go...

Sometimes: I'll really, really want to watch a movie.

Always: I fall asleep within the first 20 minutes - guaranteed!

Sometimes: I wish I could be a stay-at-home puppy mom.

Always: The bills come in the mail and I drag my butt to work.

Sometimes: I want to run off to Vegas and get married.

Always: I remind myself how important it is (to me) for my family to see me walk down the aisle. And no, they won't all go to Vegas.

Sometimes: I want to paint our living room because I'm tired of contractor white.

Always: I become too lazy to buy the paint, move and cover everything, tape off, and paint. Pretty colors will have to wait until I own a house.

Sometimes: I look online at jobs in Virginia, where I plan on moving to and building my future.

Always: Beau stops me because he isn't ready to move down there. After the wedding...

Sometimes: I want to get another tattoo.

Always: Scratch that, I always want to get another tattoo but I realize that the money can go towards other things such as my car payment, the wedding, food... Some day!

Hope everyone had a great holiday! I'll be doing a recap later this week :-)

A living, breathing Christmas present...

Who comes home today???

MY MIDDLE SISSY!!!!!!!

I am extremely close to both of my sisters and while Jen lives only 20 minutes from me, Bekki and her family live in South Carolina aka 14 hours away. I haven't seen her since last Christmas so I am so excited that she will be home today!

And since I got engaged this past April, she hasn't seen me since I 'went off the market'. It also means that she hasn't been able to enjoy the wedding planning with me. This will all change tomorrow though when we go to the bridal store to look at bridesmaid dresses (and hopefully she will get to see my dress if they still have the stock dress there)

I AM SO EXCITED!!!
If you couldn't tell

Tail Wagging Tuesday link up!

You all know how I am about my girls so when I came across C Mae's Tail Wagging Tuesday link up, you bet I was immediately creating a new post!

Theme: Christmas

Bow - 2008
When she was in that awkward lengthy teenage stage

Bow and Sammy - 2009
Sammy's first Christmas
(technically it was her second Christmas but her first was on the streets so we celebrated this as her first!)

Bow and Sammy - 2010 (obviously)
Yes, this is a picture of a picture

Bow and Sammy - 2011
Their tongues make me giggle!

And yes, the girls open their own presents!

Sammy gently unwraps her presents... she takes after her Mommy!

Once Bow saw it was a squeaky toy, she walked around with it half-unwrapped, squeaking it like crazy.
After a few minutes, she finally finished tearing the wrapping paper off and moved on to the next present!

We spoil our pups... They see Santa every year so they can tell him what they want and on Christmas morning, 80% of the presents under the tree are for them. I will admit, I am a crazy dog owner but I wouldn't have it any other way!

19 December 2011

Something to make you laugh...

There aren't too many shows that Beau and I watch together...

(he will watch Army Wives and One Tree Hill with me but he'll never admit it)

One of the shows that we snuggle on the couch and watch is Rob Dyrdek's Ridiculousness. Annie described it best, it's the present day AFV.

Today, I've decided to share a couple of my favorites with you. There are way more then this but 1) it's hard to remember all of them 2) Blogger slows waaaaay down when there's too many videos and 3) sometimes you search the wrong words, find something you definitely didn't want to, and the search ends.

Here are some I did successfully find...

Ridiculousness is on tonight and every Monday night at 10pm on MTV. Enjoy!

A present from Sarah, to Sarah

So I didn't really plan on blogging today but I figured I would post a little something from my phone...

First off, thank you for all of the luck yesterday. We're still waiting to see if the injection will work but my fingers are crossed!

And the main reason for this post today...

A package came in the mail. Merry Christmas to me!!!

15 December 2011

Like a stuck pig...

What's going on in Sarah's world today? Funny you should ask...

Today I get a needle shoved in my butt.

Seriously!

The doctor thinks part of my back pain is caused by my SI joint (hip) so they are going to do a steroid injection to see if it help. Fingers crossed it does!!!

And in case you were wondering what is going to happen in the OR...

13 December 2011

I am an addict...

On Sunday, I was catching up on reading some blogs when I came across Caroline's post (and Pink Lou Lou's reference post) about an addiction she has...

Eyeliner.

You can read all about it on her post here.

So it made me think if I have any addictions like that. Nope, none that I can think of!

Until yesterday when it hit me...

That's not too bad, right? But wait, did I mention these were ALL in my purse!!! I always complain about my bag being too heavy and packed yet not only do I have 8 different chap stick/lip balms in it, but I put them all back in there after realizing and taking a picture! A girl has to have a choice when she wants (or at least that's what I keep telling myself)

Disclaimer A fact I shouldn't be sharing: These do not include the various places I keep chap stick at home... night stand, bathroom, kitchen junk drawer, etc.

Do I have a problem, yup. Will I be doing something to fix it, nope! Hello, soft kissable lips!

12 December 2011

Cha, cha, cha, changes...

So folks, what do you think of the new header? I think it makes the blog a little more personal then just a generic photo.

And guess what... I finally have a button to go along with it!!! Grab it off the sidebar and share the love!

I know it's not a big change and nothing too intricate but it was something I wanted to do now that I'm getting more and more into this blog world. Eventually, I'll have a link with all of your buttons on it. I tried to do it yesterday but since it's not on here, I'm pretty sure you can assume how that turned out! #FAIL

did I really just use a hash tag on my blog???

Enjoy your Monday and hopefully it's a good week for everyone!

Praying...

4.5 years ago, 33 people died at the Virginia Tech massacre...

Today, 2 people lost their lives - just week's before Christmas.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to their families and friends.

I hope they catch the gunman before anymore innocent people are hurt.

07 December 2011

A date which will live in infamy...

On December 7, 1941, Japan launched a surprise attack on American soil at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. In just two hours, more than 2,400 U.S. servicemen were killed, including more than 1,100 sailors who lost their lives when the USS Arizona was sunk.
Never forget and always be thankful for our past and present service members!

Holiday Challenge: Days 3-7

Who watched last night's HIMYM? I"ll be honest... I almost cried. I was so happy that Robin and Barney were going to have a family together then in a flash, that became a thought of the past. I hope they still get married though and have a happy ending!

And finally, I'm going to catch up with Amber and Neely

Wednesday, November 30th -- Holiday decorations

I have it in a previous post but I'll gladly show off my tree again (even though I have yet to put the extra strand of lights on )...

The only other thing I have decorated so far is the mantle and our Charlie Brown tree. There is still 2 more boxes in the attic to take down!

Thursday, December 1 -- Favorite holiday movies/TV specials

"Am I just eating cause I'm boooored?"

"SANTA!!! I know him!"

I've always loved the Flintstones Christmas special

Friday, December 2 -- Ideal outfit for Christmas / NYE festivities

Call me boring but for this one, I'm a nice sweater and jeans person. Maybe something sparkly for NYE but I tend to find myself wearing a sweater (since I'm always cold lol)

Monday, December 5 -- Christmas dessert/treat recipe

These are one of my dad's favorites...
BLACK BOTTOM CUPCAKES

1ST BOWL:

8 oz. cream cheese
1 egg
1/3 c. sugar
1/8 tsp. salt
1 c. chocolate chips

2ND BOWL:

1 1/2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 c. Hershey's cocoa
1 c. water
1/3 c. oil
1 tsp. vinegar
1 tsp. vanilla

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line small muffin pan. Beat together cream cheese, egg, 1/3 cup sugar and salt in one bowl. Add chocolate chips to this mixture. In second bowl mix together remaining ingredients. Put 1 teaspoon of chocolate mixture in lined muffin pan and a heaping teaspoon of cheese mixture on top. Bake for 20 minutes. Makes 48 midget size cupcakes.

Tuesday, December 6 -- How do you celebrate Christmas?

Holidays are SUPER busy for us. We will wake up, open our presents, go to my parents for presents, then quickly go to my sister's for breakfast and for her kids to open breakfast, finally we get a couple hour break. Then the 'fun' starts again... we go to my grandma's for a late lunch and to open presents then it's off to Beau's parent's house for dinner and presents there. By the end of the day, I am more then ready for bed!

Clemson Pride & A Wish {out loud}

First and foremost...

WE WON!!!!

Halftime started with Clemson and VT tied 10-10 but based on how the Tigers were playing, I knew we were going to pull through. We were in a slump for a few weeks but the team who started out the year was back! Clemson won the ACC Champion title for the first time in 20 years with a final score of 38-10... Hello, Orange Bowl!!!

TIGER NATION!!!!

And since it's Sunday, I wanted to link up for Wish {out loud}...

Wish out loud

I wish weddings weren't so expensive so we didn't have to wait until 2013.

Ok, so that's not the only reason we are waiting but it's part of it. I know it's possible to have a low-budget wedding but Beau and I have expensive taste (as my mom would say). Since the venue is taking up a large sum of money, I've been trying to DIY a lot of the other things... and I'm having a blast so no complaint there! I just wish I could put on my beautiful dress and say 'I do' to the man I'll be spending my life with!

So that is my wish for today, what's yours?

01 December 2011

Major score!

What can you buy at Walmart for $10?

Ok, stupid question considering 1/4 of the merchandise in the store is $10 or less!

But what did I buy for $10 at Walmart yesterday...?

Sorry (once again) about the iPhone picture

That's right! I got my very own Charlie Brown Christmas tree!!! It's being used as a centerpiece on our table and was one of the best $10 ever spent!

24 days until Christmas!!!!!

30 November 2011

Silent Night, Pinterest Night... wait, what???

I've been waiting for this day for over a month... the Wednesday when I can merrily post my Christmas pins! Today I am mainly posting DIY presents/decorations/things but don't worry, there are 3 more Wednesdays to post all of my Christmas pins!!!

Let the Christmas pinning begin!
(or continue)

Holiday Blog Challege - Days 1 & 2

I really wanted to do Neely and Amber's holiday link up but of course forgot!

So here we go...

Fabulous Holiday Blog Challenge

Day 1: Favorite give ever received.
You will laugh when you read on and I fully expect you to. The best gift I ever received was... a toilet seat. Yes, you read that correctly. But not just any toilet seat, a wooden one!

Let me explain. It was a few weeks before Christmas and I went to go to the bathroom. The squishy plastic toilet seat that my parents currently had was cracked and they hadn't gotten around to replacing it yet. Well, when I went to get off the toilet, I scrapped the entire back of my leg on the damned cracked plastic! It hurt and I was not a happy camper! So a few days later when we went to see Santa, my older sisters convinced me to ask for a toilet seat for Christmas.

Fast forward... Christmas morning and we all go to open presents. What does little Sarah open first, a toilet seat of course! I was excited beyond belief! I didn't even want to open any other presents after that.

I bet y'all are jealous now, aren't you? You should be! If you're lucky, I'll look at my parents house to see if they have a picture from that morning (which I'm sure they do).

Day 2: Favorite holiday tradition, new or old
My favorite tradition was always going through my stocking - as quiet as I could be. My parents had always told us that we weren't allowed to wake them up before 8am to open presents but we were allowed to go through our stockings while waiting. It is a tradition I will continue with my kids... not only did my parents get to sleep longer but it made the presents last longer (instead of opening everything within the first 5 minutes of waking up).

On a completely different note - but I must add - who watched Hart of Dixie last night? I was so happy that Wade was finally going to tell Zoe how he felt but then his plan fell apart and I felt horrible for him. I hope they get together one of these days!

Speaking of let downs... I was so mad that there wasn't a new HIMYM last night. You can't end one episode having Robin tell Barney she's pregnant then do a rerun the next week! What is wrong with CBS?!?
