Beau was working until midnight (as usual) so I decided to have a nice, relaxing night. What was I to do home alone on a Friday night? I'll tell you...
Rent The Vow, snuggle on the couch with my puppy, glass of wine in hand.
And that's exactly what I did.
The movie was great and the night was exactly what I needed after the week I'd been having.
Since I had to be up at 5am this morning for work at 6, I went to bed once the movie was over -- it was a little after 11:30pm. Sam and I snuggled up with the fan on and completely passed out.
Side note: Normally, I sleep like the dead. A bomb could blow up next to my head
and if I lived through it, I'd still be asleep. This is how last night was.
All of a sudden, Beau was shaking me awake telling me someone was trying to get in our house.
Wait, what?!? Our house??? We live on a highway, you'd think it would be safer. I even had the living room and kitchen lights on for when Beau got home. Were they watching me and knew I went up to bed???
Apparently someone tried to get in through our side door but the neighbor across the street saw him try then run so she called the cops as Beau was getting home from work. After checking on me, B searched the property as three NJ State Troopers came to the house and searched with him. They didn't find anyone. Needless to say, I didn't get much sleep last night.
This isn't the first time it's happened though. A few weeks after we moved in, a guy tried to get in the same door while we were both home. The cops never found him either.
We have motion sensors on our first floor so we would know if someone got in but the fact that I was home both times and they still tried scares the crap out of me. But between Beau, myself, and my German Shepherd, they would regret if they ever successfully made it in!
Wow...how scary!!!! Glad he didn't break in. Hopefully, they catch him, so he isn't successful if he tries again!
ReplyDeleteok, weird! nothing ever happens in our neighborhood either, but Fri night a car hit our car (parked on the street) and chopped off the side mirror. was it Friday the 13th??
ReplyDeleteHow terrifying! So glad you are okay!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday!
Keep Shining,
Meghan
Sounds like a perfect night before that happened! Sorry you had to go through this- twice!
ReplyDeleteOMG girl this is nuts! I am so glad to hear that you are okay though! I hope they find the creep!
ReplyDeleteHow crazy! Glad you were ok and the person didn't get inside. People are getting crazy and risky. There's been a ton of break ins in my town lately with people taking the occupants as hostages while they rob them.
